I am very excited to be doing science with such a young group of students. I'm working on adapting my experiments to their needs and abilities- and I'm sure this will be a wonderful exploration of new topics for them. We will be growing lima bean plants. I want to focus on the
scientific method while we go through each experiment; I am asking students to learn scientific words like "observation" (to look at things), "hypothesis" (to make a guess), "experiment" (still thinking of a good easy way to define this), "record" (to write things down) and "conclusion" (were you right?). The plants seem to be growing nicely- wonder
how they do that with only a paper towel, some water and sunlight.
There
are no hand outs this week but hopefully next week you will have found
your way here from the small note I will send home. Until next week
